Welcome to Year 3 with Mrs Riley and Miss Rowntree
Key Information
In Summer 1, Sycamore Class will embark on an exciting Science unit all about plants, continuing to take lots of our learning outside. The children will be linking their writing and poetry to our science topic by studying The Green Giant by Katie Cottle and The Seed of Doubt by Irena Brignull. In geography, the children will explore The United Kingdom, further enriching their learning through outdoor activities. Additionally, in art, we will delve into the vibrant work of Frida Kahlo, drawing inspiration from her unique style.
In Maths, the children will continue to develop their skills in fractions, multiplication, division, and geometry, building upon what they have previously learned. We have an exciting day lined up at the end of our half term, where we will go on a special adventure! You will mostly find us outside next half term, as the outdoors is our favourite place to be. We will also transition to a new unit in Spanish and discover the lively world of jazz in music, ensuring that we have lots of fun along the way!
Please note that Sycamore Class will now have PE on Tuesdays and Fridays each week.

- All children should wear uniform which is clearly named.
- Please make sure that your child brings their own water bottle and a snack to school each day.
- Please ensure your child brings a coat for outdoor play.
- Drop-off is between 8:45-8:55am and pick-up is at 3:30pm - please do not arrive before these times as gates may be locked. Please inform us if anybody different is picking your child up.
