Our School
I am delighted to hold the role of Headteacher at Coppice Valley and I value the governing body's strategic support, to continue the success of the school.
In my role, I ensure that the governing board is well-equipped with the necessary information to perform its duties effectively, in line with the Department for Education's (DfE) Governance Handbook. This involves helping the board interpret data about the school published by the DfE and Ofsted, and providing comprehensive insights to ensure the school’s optimal management. I deliver five detailed written reports annually, covering aspects such as the school's curriculum, culture, pupil progress, applications and admissions, attendance and exclusion statistics, staff absence, recruitment and retention, performance, and the quality of teaching.
Additionally, the governing body holds me accountable by reviewing these reports, asking critical questions, and ensuring that we meet our strategic objectives. Their oversight helps maintain high standards and continuous improvement in the school's strategic operation.
